Preparing for birth can positively impact the outcome of your birth experience as well as help eliminate fear of the unknown. During this class, you will learn how your body works during labor, how to prepare for unexpected situations, pain management, relaxation techniques, and also practice different labor positions. If you have a birth partner, they will be trained as your relaxation expert and learn how to assist you through labor. We will also discuss birth plans, what to expect postpartum, newborn care, and breastfeeding.

  • Alpha Center’s Labor & Delivery Class is a one-day intensive class in Fort Collins so that our clients are able to fit it into their busy schedules! Many classes can be several weeks long, but that can be difficult to to commit to. We offer the class three times a year as a full day and provide snacks and lunch to make the class as accessible as possible.

  • Like all of Alpha Center's other services, the L&D Intensive is completely free, we just require registration!

  • Anyone from the community can attend our class for free, whether or not you have been a patient or client of Alpha Center in the past. We’d love to have you!

  • We recognize that the father of the baby may not be in the picture, or may not be able to attend. The expectant mother may bring whoever their support person will be in the delivery room.

  • Please bring some pillows, a blanket, and wear comfy clothes - this is a hands-on class.

  • Our Labor & Delivery Class is taught by YeJee Melissa Hoffman of Informed Birth Support.
