Life can be hard, and doing it on your own can feel even harder. Alpha Center cares about your mental health, which is why we added professional counseling to our services in 2016.
Patients of Alpha Center are able to see one of our staff counselors for up to six sessions, in either individual or couple’s sessions.

How does it work?
Our counseling approach (6 free sessions) is primarily a solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), offered in a confidential space designed to encourage, support and empower.
Through their counseling at Alpha Center, clients can expect to receive the following:
- A Collaborative Relationship: Counselor and client will work together to understand current problems and roadblocks, while also formulating a plan for future flourishing.
- Navigating Life Transitions: Getting support during major changes like job loss, grief, separation, or starting a family.
- Developing Coping Skills: Building resilience to manage stress, anxiety, and general difficult life circumstances tailored to your personal strengths.

Dr. Mike (LMFT) is able to see both individuals and couples and specializes in who specializes in relationships, trauma, and difficult life circumstances.
Layla Malander (MDiv/mf)
Layla (MDiv/MF) is also able to see both individuals and couples and specializes in relationship issues, life transitions, family conflict, and marital counseling

Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your appointment, please contact the center at least 48 hours prior.
Multiple no-shows may make you ineligible for future counseling services.
Do I Have To Be A Christian To Attend Counseling at Alpha Center?
No, we welcome and serve everyone regardless of religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation or gender identity, race, ethnicity, immigration status, or age. Religion does not have to be a part of your appointment unless you desire it to be.
Can I Attend With My Partner?
Yes, both of our counselors can do both relationships and individual counseling.
How Much Does It Cost?
Just like all of Alpha Center’s services, counseling appointments are free and do not require insurance.
