Newborn care, mentoring, and material support for new moms
In one-on-one sessions with a Mom Mentor, you will benefit from individual guidance to confidently care for your baby and yourself.
These sessions are available either in-person or virtually. Both options have the same content with a personal Mom Mentor, but the virtual option is scheduled as a video chat.
The content covers from pregnancy to around three months after your baby arrives. A guidebook, Understanding Postpartum Health and Baby Care, will be given upon completion as a reference manual so that you can easily access the information once the baby is here.
During the meetings with your mentor, you will watch a short video of evidence-based content that covers topics like:
Emotions and Support
Baby Safety
Nurturing Relationships
The Father’s Role
Postpartum Mother & Baby Care
Then you’ll be given the opportunity to ask questions or chat further. The sessions with your mentor will last about an hour and you can either meet at Alpha Center or at a local coffee shop. There is enough content to last for six weeks of meetings.
After the sessions are complete, you will have the opportunity to receive baby supplies and gift cards to help prepare you for your baby’s arrival.
If the father of your baby is involved, we have mentoring opportunities for him through our Successful Dads program.

An appointment will be scheduled for futher infomation on how to participate in individual mentoring. Our coordinator will take that information and pair you with a mentor, then pass the information on to your assigned mentor.
Once your Mentor Mom is assigned she will contact you to set up your meetings. The program is spread out over 5 or 6 one-hour sessions designed to help you prepare to care for your newborn and yourself!
You will meet with your Mom Mentor in a public space and begin covering the topics, using evidence-based videos and discussion. Upon completing your sessions you will be given baby supplies and gift cards to help you as you start your motherhood journey.

Not at all, we have served moms from all different faith backgrounds. Spirituality and faith can be as much or as little a part of your experience as you’d like.
Yes! Successful Dads is designed for dads and is a four session program.
You can attend with your partner at our monthly Successful Families Classes. Childcare and dinner are included with registration, and it’s free!
Like all of Alpha Center’s programs, Successful Moms is a free program, funded by donations from the Northern Colorado Community.
Successful Moms cannot be used towards court-mandated parenting classes. If you would like help finding one that does, contact your case worker or call us at 970.221.5121.
